iPhone 5 Will Be Available On 15th October

Mac4Ever reports that France Telecom CEO Stéphane Richard said that the reports will be released iPhone 5 October 15.

However it is not clear whether Richard has based this statement on information received or are based on rumors and speculation that he has heard so far. It would be rare that a senior executive and Richard make comments based on hearsay.

This is actually  what Richard told reporters:

If I believe what we heard, the iPhone 5 will be released on October 15.

Interestingly, in May 2011, Richard was also revealed in an interview that the iPhone 5 will be smaller and thinner. He had also revealed that Apple was working on a project called “e-SIM project,” which would allow the iPhone to work without any SIM card. He had said that companies like France Telecom thought it was a bad idea, “SIM card is a critical piece of the process of authentication and security”, so Apple is working with them to introduce a small SIM card. Since then, we heard that Apple has put the project on hold for now.

As noted by MacRumors, October 15, a Saturday would be a strange day for the iPhone that Apple will launch five prefer to launch the next generation iPhone, either on a Thursday or Friday, October 14 it seems a later date likely, that in line with rumors.
